AfriForum and Agriculture Minister meet re farm murders
AfriForum is to meet with the Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, Senzeni Zokwana tomorrow to discuss possible solutions to the farm murder crisis. The meeting is scheduled for 8:00 and will be at the office of the minister in Pretoria.
Ernst Roets, Deputy CEO of AfriForum, said the organisation believes in a dual solution to the problem.
“AfriForum is actively establishing community safety structures across the country, empowering communities to safeguard themselves more effectively. A crisis like this should however be tackled from both sides. Strong political leadership is therefore necessary.”
Although a media conference will not be hosted after the meeting, AfriForum will be available for comment.
