AfriForum and victims to submit petition on farm murders to UN

AfriForum will launch a petition this Wednesday for prioritizing farm murders. The petition will be submitted in November to the United Nations’ Forum for Minority Issues in Switzerland. Various victims who have lost loved ones in farm attacks during the past few years will be present at the launch. Their names will top the petition list.

During the event AfriForum will also introduce a document entitled “The Mthethwa Docket”. The document contains particulars of ten instances during the past two years where victims tried to obtain Minister Mthethwa’s intervention against farm murders. Each time they were treated with disdain.

Ernst Roets, Deputy CEO of AfriForum said that this project entailed the largest initiative to date in AfriForum’s campaign against farm murders.

More particulars regarding the participation of AfriForum in the United Nations Forum will be made available later.
