Man walks from Nelspruit to submit memorandum re farm murders, racism and police murders to Pres Zuma

Duncan Nyawo is to submit a memorandum in partnership with AfriForum at the Union Buildings tomorrow, requesting – among other things – the prioritising of farm murders.

Nyawo, a student teacher, left his home town, Nelspruit on foot on Monday and walked three consecutive days to submit the memorandum to President Jacob Zuma. He wants to especially create awareness about farm murders, racism and the murder of police officers.

AfriForum heard about Nyawo’s plans and offered their assistance. AfriForum sponsored Nyawo with a backpack, arranged security for his safety during the walk and paid for his delegation’s accommodation. A delegation of AfriForum Youth joined Nyawo in his walk with a purpose.

Nyawo will arrive at the Union Buildings in the capital alongside representatives of AfriForum at 11:00 tomorrow morning, when he will hand over his memorandum to a representative of Pres Zuma.

The media is cordially invited to cover the event.
